The InfuseChill starts from a different idea. If the ice is going to melt into the glass anyway, make it out of something worth drinking. Pour in juice, cold brew, coffee, cordial or a spirit instead of water, and the cubes that come out carry that flavour with them. An iced coffee stays an iced coffee to the last mouthful. A summer cordial gets stronger as it goes, not weaker.
A batch of nine takes 7 to 11 minutes, so the first round is ready about as fast as you can cut the fruit. The 1.3 litre tank runs several batches back to back, and the ice box holds 500 grams, so there is a reserve waiting when people arrive.
Two cube sizes are there for a reason. The smaller one chills quickly and suits a tall glass. The larger one lasts, which is what you want in something you are going to sit with. The controls are a row of touch icons along the top edge, the viewing window shows how much beverage is left, and indicators tell you when to top it up or empty the box.
At 28.8cm wide it sits on a benchtop or a bar cart without taking over the surface, and the removable ice box and scoop lift straight out when you want to carry the ice to the table.
