Air conditioners vs. Air Coolers: What’s the Difference?
Portable air conditioners work by absorbing indoor heat and releasing it outdoors. Like conventional units, portable ACs require a venting system to effectively cool your home. This comes in the form of an exhaust hose connected to a window. Most portable ACs come with a window sealing board for easy setup and installation. They’re also low-maintenance, making them the most convenient solution for seasonal use.Air coolers, on the other hand, do not require window venting. Instead, they use water evaporation to reduce heat indoors. You’ll find models ranging in water capacity from 3.5L to 22L, with additional functions such as purifying or dehumidifying. Air coolers are also economical, requiring less electricity to run compared to air conditioners. However, you will need to keep topping them up with water to enjoy the cooling effect.
